Organ Recital: St James the Great, Dursley
Benedict will be giving a recital at the parish church of St James the Great. Organ Recital: Blackburn Cathedral
Benedict is delighted to have been invited back to Blackburn Cathedral (where, from 2011 - 12 he was the Organ Scholar) to give a lunchtime organ recital. The concert, which is part of the cathedral's regular lunchtime recital series, will be on Wednesday 9 March 2016 at 1pm and will last roughly 45 minutes. Benedict’s piece Effundum spiritum meum has been selected to be performed in the workshops organised as part of the Old Hispanic Office’s composition competition. The piece, which was written for the competition in the summer of 2015, will be workshopped by the Christ Church Cathedral Choir alongside pieces by other short-listed composers in the chapel of St Peter’s College, Oxford on the 7 March (15:00 - 15:30) and 8 March (12:00 - 12:30). Bristol University Symphony Orchestra: Holst – The Planets
Benedict will be playing the organ with the Bristol University Symphony Orchestra for their performance of Gustav Holst's The Planets. The concert, which will be conducted by Neal Farwell, will take place in the Auditorium of the Victoria Rooms (University Music Department) at 19:30 on the 6 February. Bilkent New Music Days – Concert
Hezarfen Ensemble performers Müge Hendekli (piano) and Amy Salsgiver (percussion), will be giving the première performance of Benedict’s most recent piece Yeşil gece müziği as part of the Bilkent New Music Days festival. This piece was commissioned as part of the British Council sponsored ‘From Word to Sound’ project.
