Benedict’s piece Effundum spiritum meum has been selected to be performed in the workshops organised as part of the Old Hispanic Office’s composition competition. The piece, which was written for the competition in the summer of 2015, will be workshopped by the Christ Church Cathedral Choir alongside pieces by other short-listed composers in the chapel of St Peter’s College, Oxford on the 7 March (15:00 – 15:30) and 8 March (12:00 – 12:30).
As well as the Oxford workshops, there will also be workshop sessions in Bristol over the preceding weekend at which other short-listed pieces will be worked on by both the Bristol Cathedral Choir (in the Lord Mayor’s Chapel, Bristol) and the Kokoro Ensemble (in the Victoria Rooms). You can find details of the full schedule for the weekend on the Old Hispanic Office’s website here.

This event is open to the public, entry free of charge. Apart from the performers and composers, all attendees will need to provide their own lunches. Please be aware that recording will be in progress during the workshop sessions; audience members will need to listen quietly without making a disturbance.
